Overview

The National Student Exchange (NSE) is a study away opportunity that allows you to take new courses, see new places, make new friends, and enroll in academic options that may not be available on our campus. NSE may be a good fit if you have trouble finding a full semester of courses at one of our study abroad programs. You can study for a single term or academic year at one of nearly 200 NSE member colleges and universities in the locations listed below.
  • United States
  • Canada
  • Guam
  • Puerto Rico
  • U.S. Virgin Islands
Students may participate in most clubs and organizations. Students may have the opportunity to work part-time or live off campus. Check out the campus profiles on the NSE website for more details.

Requirements

Jefferson - East Falls Campus can send a limited number students on a National Student Exchange program per year.  Students who are interested in applying must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, and cannot be on academic or disciplinary probation.  Interested students must complete our online application, in addition to the NSE application, by the deadline indicated above in order to be considered.

Jefferson - East Falls Campus is considered a "Plan B" school in the NSE.  Therefore, applicants may only consider other "Plan B" institutions when deciding which university you would like to exchange with.  "Plan B" means that you will continue to pay tuition and required student fees to Jefferson - East Fals during your semester exchange, but you will pay room/board fees to your host college/university.  Financial Aid can be still be used.

As you prepare your application, you should select at LEAST 5 schools you would be interested and able to attend. NSE Applicants are placed at a host institutions during the Annual March Placement conference based on availability of spots and eligibility for your academic program You will need to plan out a full semester of courses, with alternates with your advisor and have your list of schools and courses approved by your academic program director. You will find out your final placement after the conference.
