Program Description:

NEW YORK Fashion Immersion Course 

FALL 2015


NY fashion Immersion Course is an exciting program for sophomores studying Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising and Management at PhilaU.  Students who are accepted into this program will get an up close look at the fashion scene in NYC while earning 6 elective credits.

The course will take place during the Fall semester, 2015.  Accompanied by PhilaU faculty, students will spend alternating weeks in New York City during the semester visiting companies/organizations that span the entire value chain including design concept, product development, production, merchandising, marketing and customer satisfaction.  Students will also spend a few days in NYC during Fashion Week experiencing the excitement of the fashion industry.  During the weeks when students are on campus, they will participate in a major Nexus Learning project that will involve utilizing the experiences they gain from their visits to fashion companies/organizations.

Cost of this course is $1,900, which includes bus fares to/from NYC, Fashion Week hotel stay ,entrance fees for fashion shows, tours, exhibitions, several receptions, and farewell dinner. 

A $250 commitment deposit is due upon acceptance into the program, and the balance will be placed on the accepted student's Fall 2015 University invoice as an additional fee to be paid alongside general tuition and room and board (etc.) for the semester.

  • MAJORS: FD or FMM
  • GPA: Minimum 2.75
  • Sophomore Status: At least 30 credits completed
  • Academic and Disciplinary Good Standing
